Deaf Literacy Initiative is a non-profit organization that supports and promotes Deaf and Deaf-Blind literacy in Ontario. Created in 1991, DLI is funded by the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development to provide training, research, networking and resources to Ontario’s Deaf stream literacy service providers.

DLI brings together the Deaf and Deaf-Blind community through outreach and an accessible, Deaf-friendly website.
DLI advances literacy opportunities by working with the Deaf and Deaf-Blind community in developing online resources and by providing and advocating for necessary equipment.
DLI sells goods and services to fund new resources and to provide needed support to the Deaf and Deaf-Blind community.
Deaf Literacy Initiative operates with the generous support of the MLTSD: Ministry of Labour Training and Skills Development.
